Fun in the cuzzi

Here is some video of Kendyl in the jacuzzi for the first time. Sorry it's sideways. I didn't realize it until it was too late. My bad
jacuzzi time

1st Slumber Party

This past weekend was really full. Friday night we went to Logan's baseball game and then came home and played with Daddy. On Saturday we picked up Mallorey and Logan and headed to grandma's because we were all going to cousin Paige's 1st birthday party. Hailee met us at grandms's and came with us too. You had a lot of fun at the party and got to see a lot of kids, especially Hope. I think she is your new best friend:) After the party we drove Hailee home and then we came to our house to get some stuff because me and you were going to your first slumber party. Me, you, Mal and Logan met grandma and Cici at Island's for dinner before going to Cici's. You were such a good girl while we were there. Then we went to Cici's for our slumber party. While we were there you experienced another first....the jacuzzi. You had a blast in the jacuzzi with everyone. You were splashing around like crazy and laughing the whole time. After the jacuzzi, we watched the Kids Choice Awards with Mal and Logan and then went to bed. You slept ok considering this was your first night away from home. After we woke up, had breakfast and got dressed we headed home to rest. You really had a lot of fun at the slumber party. After taking a well-needed nap we headed over to Aunt Cyndi's for a BBQ. Uncle Eric made yummy food and we got to hang out with them and with Mary (uncle eric's sister). Then we came home and hung out all evening. You are such a good girl, Kendyl. I love how you just go with the flow no matter where we are. You truly are an angel and I am very lucky to have been given such a great gift. Thanks for such an awesome week. I wish I didn't have to go back to work tomorrow, but I'm sure you'll have a great time at Jennifer's. Just PLEASE don't crawl for the first time over there..wait til you get home:) Love you special girl.
Here is Cici giving you some ice cream...bad Cici
Here you are going in the jacuzzi for the first time

Role models???

Well today I left you with Aunt Heidi, Mallorey and Logan for a few hours and they had a great time with you. You went for a walk and played. Then we went to Target with Mallorey and then we all headed to Logan's game. Your cousins are really fun and they can't wait for you to get bigger so they can really play with you.
Here they are trying to teach you a new trick (even though you've done it before)

Here you are mastering it.....

I'm a little nervous about your new role models :) The funny thing is..you actually started the whole thing:) Thanks for being such a cool kid. Love you

Another fun day

Today we had another fun day. We started off by going to register for your baptism next month. Then we went to get some party supplies for Aunt Cyndi's baby shower. Then we came home and played, played, played. I had sooo much fun with you. My plan was to actually get some work done, but you are way tooooo much fun. Now that you are more mobile you are exploring some things that you probably shouldn't be. For example, today you put the following things in your mouth (in no particular order)... the wall, your glo worm, my toe (gross, I know), my eye/eyebrow, and the best one...my nose. And yes, we had tongue in nostril. The joys of motherhood :) Did I mention that your bottom tooth is starting to come in too, so we have a nice little sharp point to deal with:) Throughout all the grossness, we laughed a lot and I fell more in love with you than I thought was possible. The best part was when you actually kissed me instead of trying to eat me:) The only bad part about today was that it is Thursday, which means my week off is almost over:( Well, it just make me look forward to summertime. Love you baby girl. Thanks for another great day.

Yoga Baby

Kendyl is officially a Yoga Baby. She is obviously also ready to start crawling :0

A Special visit

Dear Kendyl,
Today we had a great day. We started off by going to order your official birth certificate because I have been lazy and I keep forgetting to do it. Then we dropped by grandpa's work to surprise him. He was very happy to see you. Then we hopped on the freeway and surprised daddy at work. He was really happy to see you. He showed you off to all his friends and everyone thought you were so cute. (It's a good thing daddy works with soooo many people with good taste) :) After we left there we hopped back on the freeway and went to see GG. You never met GG, but she would have fallen in love with you probably harder than anyone else. So me and you took a blanket and a bottle and hung out at the cemetary for about an hour. You experienced another first while we were there....grass :) I took off your socks and let your toes feel it for the first time. You loved it. (Let's just hope you're not allergic). After the cemetary we went to Aunt Cyndi's because we were having a girl's lunch with us, Aunt Cyndi, Aunt Evonne and Abbey. We went to the Olive Garden where again you left the place with your own "special fragrance." Then we headed back to Aunt Cyndi's where we played. You also attempted to get tricky and crwal for us for a little bit before coming home. You are now sound asleep in your car seat. Hopefully you'll take a long nap after the exciting day today. Well, thanks for an awesome day. I love being home with you and watching you grow every minute. You are the coolest person in the world and I love you.
Love,
Mom
Here you are visiting GG

I love your little toes

Look at what I did today :)

getting ready

Now that she's up, I wonder how long it will take her to get to step 2? Knowing her..about 3 days:) Well, I guess it's time to pull out the vacuum. I can't believe how fast she is growing. Before I know it she'll be driving :0

A new friend

Today we had a fun day. We went shopping and then went to Grandma and Grandpa's to watch some basketball. While we were there you found your new friend... he doesn't have a name yet, but you sure had fun with him. Tomorrow when we go back for Easter we'll have to give him a name. Well thanks for always being so entertaining and enjoyable to be around, even when you do get mad that you can't have anymore dutch apple :) Love you cutie.

Party like a rock star

Last night we went to celebrate your cousin Hailee's 2nd birthday. She had an Elmo party and guess who showed up?? That's right... Elmo himself. You had a great time with all the kids. You sat up during the Itsy Bitsy Spider and danced while Elmo and the kids were singing. What a fun time. You love going to new places because you love looking around and observing things. Well, you were a pretty good girl the whole night. You tried turkey for the first time and I must say you weren't really a fan, but the banana-peach granola made up for it.:) After dinner you hung out and watched Hailee open all her cool presents, then you hung out with the girls outside. After we sang Happy Birthday, we changed you in to your pj's, gave you your evening milk and you were out!! We came home around 9:45 and we left you in your car seat because you were sleeping so hard. I told Daddy that when you woke up we would take you out and put you to bed. Well...apparently you partied too hard because the next thing I knew it was 6:10 this morning and you were still asleep in your car seat, strapped in and everything. You finally woke up around 6:30 with a huge smile on your face. I guess that's what happens when you party like a rock star. Love you. Thanks for a fun (and restful) night.

Here you are with the "big kids" doing "The Itsy Bitsy Spider"

SURPRISE!!

Today started off pretty crummy because I was really tired at work. Then when I was walking my students to lunch, you and Jennifer jumped out from behind a door and surprised me. I was so happy to see you. She had come up to have lunch with her daughters Victoria and Sophia and my lunchtime is right in between theirs. So I grabbed you and took you to lunch with Aunt Cyndi. It just so happened that I was also going to lunch with 4 of my students who earned a special Carl's Jr. lunch with me. So the 6 of us were off and what fun we had. After we got back I had to leave you with Jennifer, but I knew it wouldn't be long before I would see you. That was the best surprise ever. Thanks for being such a fun and entertaining daughter. You really brighten my every moment. Love you

A Peaceful Headache

Today Jennifer brought you to school to drop you off to me. You were wide awake and very happy (shocker, I know). I was hoping and praying that you would take a nice nap in the car and for a little while at home because I had a headache as big as Texas and I was hoping to get in a little nap as well. Well you fell asleep in the car and my plan was off to a great start. Then we got home....and your eyes were wide open. So much for the nap:( We played for a little bit and you had some dinner. Then we came upstairs so you could roll around on the bed and practice your crawling around, which is very cute. Before I knew it me and you were both snoozing. Daddy came in and took over so I could have some dinner and then I rushed back to lay by you. You napped for another hour and I just laid there and stared at you the whole time. You are so beautiful and perfect. I think it is amazing that I can have such a huge headache all day and then magically forget about it the moment I look at your little face. Thanks for giving me such a peaceful headache. I love you sooooo much.

Refried Beans????

Today we had a pretty calm day. We hung out at home and just relaxed. But wouldn't you know it, we were having a nice family day when all of a sudden Daddy noticed something smelled funny. We knew immediately that you had done your thing, but we never in a million years thought the day would come when your poop really did smell like refried beans. It was twice as funny as it was disgusting. I'm still trying to figure out how and why it would smell like that? Oh well, hoefully tomorrow's will smell like the sweet potatoes that you had for dinner. Love you missy. Thanks for a great weekend.

Grandpa Sumlin

Today you got to meet your Grandpa Sumlin. He lives in Arizona and he was down visiting, so we went over to Auntie Lisa's to see him. Your cousin Garryl was there too because he is home for Spring Break. Everyone was very happy to see/meet you. You were a good girl and made everyone smile (as usual). Thanks for being so amazing. Here is a picture of you, Daddy and Grandpa Sumlin.

Go, Go, Go, Go

On cue

Bubbly

When you were just an itty bitty baby we used to listen to "Bubbly" by Colbie Calliat. We actually listened to the whole CD but that sound was popular on the radio at the time. You would always just hang out and listen while I would sing. I never thought the song would actually have any affect on you. I should have known better. One day about 2 months ago, we were driving home and you started getting a little fussy. I put that song on and you quickly settled down. I just thought you liked having music on. Well, I quickly learned that you really like that song because the minute that song went off, you got fussy again, so I put it back on and you quieted down again. That was 2 months ago.
Yesterday on our way to the Dr. you started getting really fussy. Aunt Cyndi was with us and she said "Try the song" (because I don't think she believed me about how it works), so I put it on and boom...no more fussiness. She said, "try another song," thinking it was just a coincidence, so I did and the fussiness returned. In amazement she said, "Ok go back to Bubbly." The second it started you were very content and fine (until the song ended).
I think it is so fitting that "your song" is titled "Bubbly" because that describes your personality in every way possible. I love you very much. Thanks for always being so bubbly.

"Pee" nut

Today you had quite a day. First you took a major dumper at Jennifer's. To the point it went all up your back and they had to double team you to get you clean. Then while Jennifer was holding you up so Dan could clean your back, you decided to pee all over Jennifer. hahahaha I bet you thought you were pretty tricky.

Then we went to your 6 month checkup and you did great. You now weigh 18lbs 4 oz and are 26 inches long. Dr. Percer said you look great and he even said that he no longer hears your heart murmur (let's hope that's true). Today you got 3 more shots, barely screamed and then you were your happy self. The funny part was right when the nurse was weighing you, you peed all over the table (again). I think you were aiming for her, maybe you thought she was Jennifer and were going for round 2?? Well, I'm very blessed to have a happy, healthy baby girl. I love you very much little "pee" nut.

Mall rat

Today after picking you up from Jennifer's house, we met Aunt Cyndi at the mall. I think taking you out anywhere is the best because you are always so curious and fun to be with. Once we got there and you sat up in your stroller we walked around until we found her at the maternity store. I love watching other peoples' face when they see you. They always give the "Ahhh she's so cute" look and most will even say it. I just smile proudly inside because it is soooo true. The only bad part about you sitting that way now is that I can't see that cute face all the time looking at me, but I guess I don't always have to be selfish. I can share that gorgeous face and smile with the world if I have to. :) Well, we stayed at the mall for about an hour and then we headed home. It was getting pretty late and we both wanted to get home to see daddy. Thanks for being a great daughter. I'm sorry that I love to show you off so much, but I don't want to neglect the world by not sharing that adorable face. I love you Kendyl. Hope you have great dreams.

6 Months old

Kendyl is now 6 months old. She's actually 26 weeks, which is technically more than 6 months, but calendar wise we are 6 months today :) And what an amazing 6 months it has been. Clearly I undervalued people's thoughts on how "wonderful" beng a mom is, until I actually became one. I used to think, "We won't be able to just get up and go whenever we want if we have a baby." But you know what... I don't want to get up and go anywhere now that she is here. All those things I thought were important, not so much anymore. Who cares about going out to dinner when there are spagettio's :)
just kidding. Honestly though I don't miss things that I used to do before she was here, in fact I'm having a hard time even remembering what some of those things were. Maybe I really didn't live the exciting life I once thought I did :0 haha Regardless, if I could go back and do it again, I would without thinking about it. (No... we are not trying!!!) Kendyl is perfectly just enough. So here is to a wonderful 6 months with the most beautiful girl in the world. And here's to Daddy, because without him, I'd be more of a mess than I am now. I am truly the luckiest lady around to have 2 such wonderful people to call "family". Love you both.

On a lighter note, today we celebrated Kendyl's birthday by giving her a bath. Oh, that came out wrong. We bathe her more than once a month I promise. That's just how we started the day off. Today she sat up in the bath tub without any support and had a blast playing with the water. (I will upload the video as soon as I can). Then we headed off to what we thought was going to be the beach. Only mommy had other plans....SHOPPING :) We went to Westminster Mall to have a "family day" and 5 hours later we were headed home. Kendyl was a great baby as usual and everyone commented on how cute she is. We really had a nice time. After that we went to Taco Surf for dinner and then came home and now we are getting ready to play and celebrate your birthday (yes, mom has cake) :) SO Happy 6 month birthday baby girl. I love you sooooooooooooooooooooooo much. You are my everything.
Love Mom
Bath time fun

Yahhh I'm 6 months old

Go Yankees

Well, being an Angel found I never thought I would be saying.. "Go Yankees", but that's what we were doing last night when we went to watch Logan's first baseball game. Kendyl had a great time at the field because she loves being outside. So we hung out and watched Logan smash the ball and make great defensive plays. We were quite impressed. I guess being a Yankee fan isn't as bad as we thought it would be, especially when they are so cute :)
After we came home, we just hung out until bedtime. What a fun way to spend a Friday night.
Love you Kendyl

"More Today Than Yesterday"

Today on the way home a song came on that actually had me in tears for 2 reasons. 1) I can't believe how true the words are when it comes to you, and 2)I am old because I was actually rocking out to the elevator music :( Well, here are some of the words that I will always remember about how much I love my little lovebug:)

"I love you more today than yesterday"

I don't remember what day it was
I didn't notice what time it was
All I know is that I fell in love with you
And if all my dreams come true
I'll be spending time with you

Every day's a new day in love with you
With each day comes a new way of loving you
Every time I kiss your lips my mind starts to wander
And if all my dreams come true
I'll be spending time with you

Oh, I love you more today than yesterday
But not as much as tomorrow
I love you more today than yesterday
But, darling, not as much as tomorrow

Can't wait for tomorrow, precious girl
Love you

He's baaaaaaack

Unfortunately, Mr. Cold has returned to my little girl. He has invaded her little nose and is making her sneeze and cough again. She still has no fever, but she is stuffy and is struggling to sleep. :( Fortunately, she is a trooper and is still trying to be her happy self, but Mr. Cold often wins that battle. After spending the day with grandma today, I'm starting to think that maybe she did put a curse on her. I better keep my eye on her, she's pretty sneaky :) j/k granny. Maybe this is Kendyl's way of telling me she doesn't want to sleep in her room and that she can't stand not being next to me at night. Let's go with that one. It makes me feel much better. :) Well, hopefully Mr. Cold can catch the next flight out of here and bother some other innocent little person, because mine has had just about enough. Love you Kendyl, hope you feel better soon.

Mommy played Hookie

Today I played hookie so we could spend the day together. I thought it would be nice to just hang out at home and play all day. Well, the day got off to a great start with you not waking up until 7:15 (after being put to bed at 9). You woke up in a great mood and it was such a beautiful day outside that I decided we needed to get out. So we got dressed, hopped in the car and headed for the beach. We first went to Evonne and Abbey's because they came with us. What a wonderful day it was. I wish I could spend everyday like this with you. It is so much fun to see you explore new things. We definitely need to have more play dates like this. Next time though, we need to bring daddy too. Here are some pictures of our day.

Back in the bassie

Well, since Kendyl had her little cold last week, she has been back sleeping in her bassinet in our room. I must admit it, I missed the little booger. I love looking over and seeing that little face. I missed hearing her deep sigh when she is about to fall asleep. I could do without the snoring, but I know that makes her, her and I love every inch and sound that she makes because it comes from her. It's always been hard to imagine life without her, but now more than ever, I realize that she came at the perfect time and I am the luckiest person in the world. So we're going to give her one more night in the bassie and then it's back to her big girl crib. I hope she (and by that I mean me) can handle it:) Love you Kendyl, and I'm so glad you are feeling better.
