Banana-rama

Last night you had a blast with your banana. You love to eat the "real thing" now. You were chewing it up like crazy. Afterwards, you had the stickiest hands and the slimiest face I have ever seen. You even managed to get some in your curly locks? Love you.

Sporty Spice

Need a few volunteers to re-make the Spice Girls. Who's down?

Freak-a-zoid

The title of this blog has nothing to do with you, Kendyl. Yesterday you experienced your first earthquake. I was at work and you were with Jennifer. Well, we had a hard time getting a hold of each other and I "over reacted" a tad. I had my first official panic attack because I was worried. Even though I knew you were fine, I just needed to see your face. Once I picked you up, I was fine. It's just a shame that I tortured everyone around me until then. Sorry for the drama everyone:0 I just love you so much Kendyl, I started to freak because I can't imagine my life without you.

2,4,6,8 we think Mallorey's really great!

Today we went to watch Mallorey's end of cheer camp performance. You had a great time. Before it started you were walking all over the gym floor. You didn't, however, like being held down once it started. I think you might have the cheerleader spirit in you because you wanted to get out there with them. Well, Mallorey did a great job on her cheer and on her halftime dance. She rocks.
Other than that we had a pretty normal day. We went to Target, took naps, ate and pooped pretty much in that order :) Right now you are fighting the sleep monster who wants you to fall asleep and unfortunately for daddy.... you are winning :) Time to get out the Tylenol:) just kidding. Thanks for a great weekend french fry, love you.

Can I have SMORE please???

Today we went over to grandma and grandpa's house to have a BBQ. Mallorey and Logan were there to play with you as well as most of your aunts and uncles. You had a great day. It started off with a little cat-nap before you started exploring the backyard. We played and hung out and then it was time to put on the babykini and get in the pool. We played in there until you got tired and then daddy took you on a little walk to help you take a nap. After your nap you expeienced a few more "firsts"
You had your first bonfire (luckily, grandma didn't burn any chairs this time)
You had your first Diet Coke (it was empty, don't worry)
You had your first and I'm sure not last taste of a SMORE!!!! You loved it! I really had no doubt that you would since you are my child:)

You rode a skateboard for the first time.

You were a great girl today and everyone is so proud of you and loves you so much. Thanks for being so awesome. I love you.

Must Close Doors

Today I learned a valuable lesson and created a new house rule. It all started after your morning nap when you were playing in the living room. I was on the computer and I could see you perfectly. About 2 minutes passed by and I noticed it was awful quiet and I couldn't see you, so I yelled, "Kendyl, come here" knowing it wouldn't work and that I was going to have to get up to find you. Low and behold you came around the corner with something stuck to your foot. For a moment I couldn't figure out what it was until you came really close.... toilet paper. Oh no, I thought. As I went to pick you up I noticed your hand was all wet too... Double Oh-no now... So I walked with you around the corner and this is what we found..notice the small pieces of toilet paper on the ground. I guess you were leavinga trail so you could find your way back?

As I took a closer look, I noticed a strange object floating in the toilet...

Notice the wet spots on the toilet... And to think everything you now touch goes in your mouth...GROSS!!!!!
After we thoroughly cleaned you up, we got you dressed for the day. You went on a chaperoned date with Brandon. ALthough I must admit, he's not a very fun date- he slept the whole time :) And you got all dolled up and everything.

Lesson of the day/New house rule - YOU MUST CLOSE ALL DOORS AFTER ENTERING/EXITING
Love you Kendyl

Two timing already??

Today you had another play date at the park. This time you got to meet Jackson. He is the son of mommy's friend, Azure. She used to work with mommy, but now she is at a different school. Jackson is just about 5 weeks younger than you so you two got along pretty well. In fact you even snuck him a few kisses when your boyfriend, Brandon was taking a nap. I'm not sure if Brandon is going to appreciate that. It's a good thing he is still little, otherwise we might have a serious problem with you already two timing :) Here is a pic of you and Jackson playing.

The cool part about today was that Victoria and Sophia (Jennifer's daughters) came with us. You had a lot of fun with your "big sisters" and they took great care of you, just like their mommy does. Here are you three in the water.

Auntie Evonne and Abbey even surprised us with a visit. After we left the park, we headed over to another park to feed some ducks. We only stayed there a short time then we headed home to play with the girls. What a fun day we had. You were a very good girl all day, especially since you didn't decide to take a nap until 4 o'clock??? Wow, what a trooper. Well, thanks to everyone who played with us today, we had a lot of fun.

"Special" kisses

Tonight you kept giving me your "special" kisses. You are so funny. I love sharing these moments together. You are really trying to mimic a lot of words now too. Listen at the end of the video for her special message :) Boy, I don't know what I'd do with out video.
Love you

Dinnertime FUN

Dinnertime is definitely becoming more "interesting" these days because you are starting to venture out into more "people food." That doesn't sound very nice, but you are barely eating anymore baby food. You still have your baby cereal in the morning, one bottle around noon and one before bed, but other than that it's pretty much big girl stuff. At dinnertime, you do usually have some baby veggies and occasionally you'll have a dessert, but you are really starting to not like the rest. Tonight you had some pasta, chicken, rice and water. Enjoy the video.

Love you Kendyl

Tipsy

Every night you usually have a bottle around 8:30 or so and crash between 9 and 9:30 where you usually sleep pretty well maybe waking up once for 5-10 minutes before falling back asleep until either we wake you up or you wake up on your own around 7. Well, yesterday grandma, grandpa, Aunt Cici, Uncle Doug and Uncle Mark came over for dinner and you were very happy to see everyone. You played around and showed them your room and all your toys. Aunt Cici even brought you a whole bunch of new books that we can read together. So we had a little champagne toast to celebrate the new house and while under direct "peer pressure" I may have slipped your pacifier in my champagne glass just to give you a taste. You seemed to enjoy it because you spit your pacifier out and acted like you wanted more. It was quite comical. Anyway, after everyone left you had your bottle around 8 and then you knocked out!! You have never gone to bed that early before. You crashed hard and quick. About an hour later I heard you making some noises, so I watched you from the monitor. You were sitting up just babbling away with your back against the front of the crib. Daddy and I watched as your head kept falling forward, which was waking you back up. It was so cute. Finally you just tipped over and fell back asleep for good.
I had to capture the moment. I hope I didn't make you tipsy with the champagne, Kendyl. But I am happy that you had a good night's sleep. Love you.

A Friday full of firsts (say that 5 times fast) :)

Today was a BIG day of firsts for you. You started the day at Jennifer's house where you took the biggest dump you have probably taken for her. She described it as runny chocolate. That's technically not a "first" but I'm sure she hopes it's a "last." It wasn't until I picked you up and brought you home that the fun began.
1) you sat in the play car that Hailee let you use. Of course, you slid right out of it because your Flintstone feet don't quite touch the ground yet.
2) With the help of Aunt Netty, we put your BIG GIRL car seat in the car and we went for a ride.
3) On our ride, we decided to celebrate that you are such a big girl by getting your first McFlurry from McDonalds :)
4) Then we came home and put together your first play mat for the living room.
5) On our way to Aunt Cyndi's you watched your first movie in the car.
6) You met your first marine (Aunt Cyndi's cousin)
7) You walked around Aunt Cyndi's kitchen naked for the first time
8) You gave Brandon his first fish hook when you decided to put your finger in his mouth.
9) and finally you fell asleep for the first time in your new chair.
Thanks for being such a big girl. I am the luckiest mommy in the world. I love you, Kendyl.

Around she goes

In this video, Daddy keeps blowing up the balloon for you without tying it and you grab it and walk around with it. This must have gone on for a good 30 minutes last night. It was too cute to not post. Love you.

Hope and Paige

Today you had another play date. This time it was with Hope and Paige. They are Mommy's cousin Lani's girls. Hope is 3 and Paige is 14 months. You had a great time with them. We defintely have to do it again and more often.
Here you are pushing Paige around the room, until you crashed her into the couch.
Notice the nice "tower" in the background built by Hope....

Here are all 3 of you playing together

Here are the two sisters on the awesome new pillows that their Nana bought them. Don't worry your grandma got suckered into buying some too:)

Thanks for a great day girls. We had a lot of fun.

That's gonna leave a mark!

Today we had a pretty calm day until this...

I must say you handled it pretty well. You actually stopped crying about 2 minutes later. The fact that you fell asleep probably had something to do with it, though. You do have a little mark on your chin, but no bruise or anything else. After your nap we went to see Dr. Percer for your checkup. You now weigh 22 lbs and are 29 inches long. He said you get 2 extra stars because you are already walking around. He also said that everything sounds and looks great and that you will probably end up with green eyes :) So overall, it was a pretty good day. Thanks for being such a tough chick. I love you.

Cold feet

This morning when I opened the refrigerator to get some milk, I found one of your socks in there. Not really sure how it got in there? Now that's what I call having cold feet :)
Today we are going to see Dr. Percer again for your 10 month check up. Hope it's not too painful :) Love you.

We need a dog

This morning when Kendyl and I went on a walk in our lovely neighborhood I saw the cutest thing. At first I was a bit scared when I saw this dog "wandering" around, so I kept one eye on him and another on Kendyl in the stroller. As I watched the dog trot along I noticed he was actually trying to pick up the Sunday paper in his mouth. Uh-oh, I thought, he's hungry and Kendyl has some good meat on her bones, so I started walking faster. Then I realized he was let out to retrieve the paper, which he did perfectly. He put it in his mouth and trotted right back into the house where his owner was waiting for him. It was so cute. So, I've decided we need a dog to retrieve the paper for us. Oh wait...we don't get the paper - never mind. :)

FORE!!!!

This morning after we had breakfast with our neighbors and you took a nice nap, we went out in the garage to check on daddy. Well, he was washing the car and cleaning up when you noticed the new putting green out there. You had a lot of fun playing and walking on it for about 30 minutes. And I must say, I had a really good time watching you. Now this is going to be very shocking to everyone.. but I took a million pictures of you out there, and they are all so cute. Here a just a few of my favs. In this one you just look so darn cute, I can't resist it. Here you are teaching daddy the correct position. This is just too precious to not be a fav. And here is some video of your first "FORE"

Love you, thanks for yet another great day.

Design Star

Apparently you have a future in interior design. Here you are rearranging all the dining table chairs this morning. :)

Bib Twins

Today we met Aunt Cyndi and Brandon for lunch and a little shopping. You two had the same bib on. I tell ya, it's a match made in heaven :)
Love you. Thanks for a fun time.

Farewell Log Cabin

The trash digging mother has decided to give away your log cabin to someone other trash digger. Sorry Kendyl, but that thing was full of icky spiders. Plus it was missing the front door, and had some holes where who knows what was hiding waiting for you so it could bite you. The protective mother in me decided to let some other kid get bit :) So instead, I put together your learning house that Aunt Netty and fam bought you for Christmas. You loved it, well I'm sure you still do. You played with it non-stop for a good 20 minutes. Thanks for being such an independent baby. I love you and sorry you never got to enjoy the log cabin. We'll get you a better one when you are a bit older and know what it is.
Love you.

Problem Solver

Today after we got home you were just playing around when you noticed your sunglasses underneath the chair. It took you a minute, but you soon put your problem solving skills to work. Love you french fry.

1st Play Date

Today you had your first official play date. We met some of mommy's friends at the park and pool so you could play with their kids as well. Aunt Cyndi and Brandon also came so it was a great time. This was not only your first play date, but also your first time at the park with mommy. You had so much fun in the pool, although I didn't get any pictures because I was in there with you. Maybe mommy's friend Kim will send some to us so we can put them up. Well, you were playing in the water for a while until you decided to slip and go completely under, which scared the bageezies out of me. I grabbed you by the arm and pulled you up right away but it was still scary. So that was enough of the pool. After that we all sat out on the grass and had lunch, then me, you, Aunt Cyndi and Brandon went over to the baby swing. This was another first for you. You really didn't seem to enjoy the swing that much, but maybe next time you will. So it was back to the grass area where you helped Aunt Cyndi push Brandon in his stroller. Then you started playing with Nolan, who is mommy's friend Carla's son. You had fun playing with him and his glasses.

After a while, I decided I should change you out of your wet bathing suit, so we changed and then you did some more exploring and conquered some new "firsts." My favorite is the grass/leaves in the mouth.
You quickly realized that they didn't taste very good. So we had a really fun time with the kids. Here is a picture of some of the kids, Nolan, Kelsey, Kayla, and Abby wrapping themselves up like burritos. And here is precious Brandon, sleeping through all the fun.
Hope you had a lot of fun birthday girl, I love you.

Pick it up, throw it down

Today after our day of shopping I was trying to get you to take a nap by driving around the neighborhood when I spotted a log cabin playhouse in someone's front lawn with a Free sign on it. Grandma taught me well, Kendyl, cause after we got home Uncle Mark and Aunt Netty's dad, Lynn, took me over there to get it. We brought it home and as I was washing it down with the hose, you very slyly helped yourself to the mud again. This time you not only splashed in it, but you actually put both feet in. After I got you out we went over to the front lawn so I could water it and you quickly found the hose as I went to turn it off. You made up a new game. Here is a little bit of video.
And here is your cute new log cabin playhouse. I'm sorry that your mom is a trash digger Kendyl:)but she loves you very much.

How Lucky am I?

I just want to say that I am the luckiest mother in the world to have such a beautiful, loving, happy, curious, intelligent, and fragrant:) baby. I had to throw that last one in after the load you dropped this morning. I know you're quickly leaving the "baby" stage, but I just thank my lucky stars everyday for you, Kendyl. I love you so much. Enjoy your last day as a 9 month old.

Mr. Mobile never had a chance

The fuuniest part about these pictures is that I think we only actually used your mobile twice in the last 10 months. I guess this is your way of telling me that you never did like the thing. I love you, Ms. Stronglady
