Up close and personal

Nothing like a face shot of the cutest face around. Too bad she was really trying to "eat" the camera. :)

Speaking of personal.... should one be offended by the comment "Boy, she doesn't miss a meal does she?" Because I've heard that 3 times now and it is starting to make me a little mad:(

I know she is perfect the way she is. I love you Kendyl.

Rollie Pollie

Last night was one I will never forget. We were at home hanging out with Cyndi doing school stuff and you were laying on your back. Next thing I knew you were rocking back and forth, in what appeared to be an attempt to roll over. So I did what any proud mom would do...ran and grabbed the camera. I got on the floor with you and filmed you as you continued to really try to get that head around. And wouldn't you know....my batteries died hahaha just kidding. It took you 3 good tries, and then BAM you were on your belly. Cyndi and I were so excited. We just started laughing and then we looked over and you were back on your back, then on your stomach. You became a regular rollie pollie. I couldn't wait to show daddy, and he was just as amazed as I was. I'll try to upload the video again tonight because the computer was acting funny last night. Thanks for being so awesome Kendyl. I love you

Shop til we drop

Today after I picked you up from Jennifer's me and you went to our favorite place...Target. Then we met Cyndi and Eric at Babies r us because they were going to finish registering for baby Nordlander and we wanted to tag along like always and give our wonderful opinion on everything because for some reason Kendyl, your mom seems to think that she knows everything and will always think she is right. So get use to it now. :) So we stayed there for a little while while they finished and we just happened to find a few things for you (Shocking, I know). It was fun though. Then the 4 of us went to Baja Fresh, had some dinner, we took Cyndi home and then we finally came home. You, of course, were great. You could have had a better hair day, but let's just blame that on daddy since he drops you off in the morning :) Well, thanks for a great day. You really are a great shopping partner. I love you Kendyl.

Grandma saves the day

The mysterious missing earring has been found. It somehow fell out of her ear and landed on grandma's chair. I'm still confused how the darn thing came loose in the first place. But I'm more thankful that I didn't have to dig it out of her poop:)
Thanks Grandma

It's all fun and games, until Kendyl starts squeaking

Well, wouldn't you know it. We were having a great day and then she does this....

You can only imagine the mess it made :(
Love you stinkybutt

Copy Cat

Here is Kendyl trying to "motor boat" after watching me do it. She is so cute :) Love you Kendyl.

Who stole my earring?

This morning when you woke up I noticed you were missing an earring. Uh-oh I hope it doesn't come out in your poop. :0 Daddy and I looked everywhere and we found the back of it in your carseat, but we haven't found the actual earring yet. We're not sure if it fell out at Jennifer's, at grandma's, in our house, in the car, or in your belly. So if anyone happens to see a gold stud, let us know:) In the meantime, we are blinging you out with your baby diamonds :) I'd bet you've been planning this for a long time, so that you can finally wear the earrings that Santa brought. I knew you were a clever one. Love you

EXPLOSION

Today when I walked in Jennifer's house to pick you up, you were sitting on her lap just looking at the door. I walked in and you gave me the best smile I have ever seen. I put you in your carseat while I was talking to Jennifer for a minute, and we both started laughing because you were just staring at me...We couldn't figure out what you were thinking, but it was really cute. Then she gave me the news (good for me, bad for her) She said you had the biggest explosion in your diaper today that she has ever seen. Not only did you stink up the whole house, but you went through your diaper, up the back and out the sides All over your cute outfit :0 Good thing we packed those extra clothes (super mom does it again haha) I wanted to laugh but I didn't want her to charge me more for whatever odor killing spray she had to use. So thanks for hooking your mom up by leaving that at the sitter's house. You are an awesome daughter. I love you

What a morning!

This morning was an interesting one. First you woke up the whole neighborhood at 4:30 am. After you had breakfast, I was sure you would take another nap until it was time to get ready to go to Jennifer's. Wrong! I laid you back in your bassinet and you just started babbling away. AAHHHH WWWOOOO AYYAYAYY, for a good 20 minutes. I think me and Daddy were trying to see who could hold out longer, and I lost. So I got up, we went and changed your diaper and got dressed for the day. By this time, you were wide awake and ready to go. So I put you in your jumper and you jumped around for about 30 minutes, while I finished geting myself ready. Then I thought, ok it's now 5:45, I'm sure you're ready for a nap....nope! So we went downstairs and you played in your exersaucer while I got your bag ready, made your bottles, made breakfast for me and daddy and made our lunches (just call me super mom) ;)haha
So here we are now at 6:30, ready for a nap right? SIKE!! Ready for a mid-morning snack is more like it. So I gave you 1/2 a jar of your favorite applesauce. You scarfed that jar down like it was going out of style. Then Daddy picked you up, patted you a few times and you were off to dreamland just in time to get in the carseat and go to Jennifers. It was a very fun, yet interesting morning. Thanks for always keeping me on my toes. Just when I think I have you figured out...you get me. I love you Kendyl.

A message from Daddy

Hello Pretty Girl,

Right now you are on my left shoulder grabbing my collar and watching me type. What you dont know is I have been watching you since Mommy gave me the news you were on the way. I could not have imagined what happiness you would bring. Seeing your little face each day means the world to me. Leaving you in the morning is the hardest. Running home at night and coming through that door to your smile is the best. Anyone who has met you knows that smile.

Words cannot express how much love I have for you Kendyl Elaine!

Poor Mr. Triangle

Today when I picked you up from the babysitter's house I noticed Mr. Triangle on your car seat no longer had a link....and for a few seconds I couldn't figure out how it fell/broke off. Then I remembered that you have recently been really grabbing at the shapes that hang. I thought those toys were supposed to be "baby proof"??? I guess they're just not "Kendyl proof". Cut back on the weight lifting girl!

Farewell Mr. Triangle.

We'll miss you :(

Lesson learned

Today me, Kendyl and Aunt Cyndi went shopping :) It was nice to get out of the house and go somewhere other than work. We went to Westminster Mall because Aunt Cyndi wanted to go to Old Navy to look for maternity clothes, and being the responsible mother that I am I had to teach you to never pass up a trip to the magical Old Navy. So we tagged along and had a great time. You actually slept through most of it, until you decided to let the entire store get a whif of your lovely booty fragrance. It was quite funny. So once we left there, the 3 of us went to Islands for dinner. I changed your stinky diaper in the car and then we went and had dinner. You were a great girl while we had dinner and you even mastered the art of grabbing your little shapes that hang in your carseat. After dinner we left and that's when I learned the biggest lesson of my life so far.... NEVER LEAVE A NASTY STINKY DIAPER IN THE CAR WHEN YOU GO TO DINNER!!!!!! I obviously forgot to grab it when we went to dinner, and we paid big time. The entire car stunk for a good 10 minutes. It's a good thing you are so cute, because if not, we may have lost our friend and your future mother-in-law Aunt Cyndi. Don't go and mess up your arranged marriage before your husband is even born :) Love you baby girl. Thanks for being you.

Who's sick?

Today you stayed with Aunt Evonne and Abbey and they said that you were coughing and sneezing a lot and that you had a runny nose most of the day. So I felt very sad because I just knew you were getting sick. So I tried to take special care of you all night by keeping you warm, holding you close, cleaning your nose regularly (my favorite thing to do) :), and suctioning out your mouth. Of course, like always, you were a trooper. You let me do my thing without getting fussy or andry with me. The best part of the night was when you were sitting on Daddy's belly and I reached over to suction out your mouth after a huge sneeze. I think the suction thingy must have tickled your gums because you started cracking up.. really giggling. Not just your usual huuuuuhhhhh, but really chuckling. Daddy and I were laughing so hard we both had tears in our eyes. So of course, I kept doing it, and you kept laughing. We called grandma so she could hear it and she thought you were funny, so we called Cici too and that's when you decided you were done because you started to try to eat the thing. No more laughing.... Daddy and I could not believe how funny and cute your laugh is. We are also amazed at how someone with such a runny nose, a bad cough and serious sneezes could instantly find a way to make us smile. Thanks for always entertaining us even when we know you're not feeling great. I love you special girl.

Pooperoni

Last night you tried applesauce for the first time and you really liked it. I think the applesauce may be helping things "move along",because
today you stayed with grandma and she said that you pooped 3 times. That is definitely a first for you and I hope you continue to do what you gotta do. :) I know that's gross, but it really makes your belly better. Well, thanks for leaving your poops at grandma's house my little pooperoni. I love you

Before I was a mom

Before I was a Mom I never learned the words to a lullaby.

I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Drooled on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple little grin.
I never sat up for hours watching a baby sleep.

I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom - I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.

I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

I had never known the warmth, The joy, The love, The heartache, The wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom.

I love you Kendyl Elaine

The previous message was written by none other than Kendyl herself. She has taken a liking to smacking the keyboard as she sits with me at the computer, so I figured she had something to share :) I'm pretty sure it says something about her mom being the most wonderful and beautiful person on the world. hahahahahaha

Bling Bling

Check out my new "Bling"

Shots SUCK!!!!

4 month shots

How's that taste?

Today we gave you your first taste of rice cereal. I was a little afraid of how you were going to react, but you did as you normally do...amazed me. Not only did you constantly want more, but at one point you actually grabbed the spoon out of my hand and tried to feed yourself. Ok. so maybe the spoon just felt good on your gums, but I can pretend, I mean we already know you are a genius so here's one more thing to add to your "genius" list :)

Stick me here, stick me there, why don't you just stick me everywhere?

Today we went to see Dr. Percer for your 4 month checkup and you were a good girl considering what you went through. Aunt Cyndi came with us because we're trying to show her what she has to look forward to:) When we got there you were still asleep and I had to wake you up so the nurse could weigh and measure you. You now weigh 15lbs 4oz and are 25 1/4 inches long. After that the Dr. came in and checked you and he said that you were looking pretty good and told us that we can start you on cereal if we want. He also predicted that your eyes are going to be green. I hope so because then there will finally be some proof that you did come from me:) You also got 5 shots from the nurse. I figured since you were going to get shots, I might as well have them pierce your ears as well, so he did and you screamed like crazy. It was pretty sad, but pretty funny and now you look sooooo cute.

Thanks for being such a trooper, Kendyl. You really are a great daughter and I love you very much.

"Tummy Time" gone bad

Check out Kendyl showing how she REALLY feels about "Tummy Time"

That's my girl, never holding anything back or in :)
Love you Kendyl

4 months old

Today was your 4month birthday and I wish I could have spent every minute with you. I can't believe how fast the time is going, and I really can't believe that I miss the "baby" stage already. Not that we need another you, because you are perfect but it's just funny how fast you have turned from a newborn to an infant. You are doing so many amazing things these days and are getting so independent that at times I find myself a little sad to see you grow so quickly.
Today Aunt Evonne and Abbey came over to watch you while Daddy and I went to work. They both said you were a really good girl and you even slept quite a bit (i bet grandma is jealous of that). When I came home, me and you played until we both fell asleep only to be woken up by daddy when he got home. He stole you away from me and has been playing with you ever since. I have been getting all your stuff ready and making important notes because tomorrow is your first day with your new sitter, Jennifer. You are going to love her and I know she is going to fall in love with you after just 5 minutes. I mean, come on, how can you not?? Well, thank you for giving me the greatest 4 months any mother could ask for. I love my life more everyday now that you are in it.
Happy Birthday Kendyl.
I love you

We made it

Well I can't believe it, but we (and I really mean me) made it today without being together. Our first official day away from each other for more than 5 hours and we both survived. If it wasn't for grandma and aunt Cyndi (for the Snickers) I'm not sure I would have made it. I picked you up at grandma's and you were still in one piece, and I was so happy to see you. Grandma said you were a good girl, but that you didn't nap very much(so shocking). We played at grandma's until Daddy came because we had a meeting with the family that is going to be your new babysitter very soon. So we went over there and you got to meet them and everyone got along great. Me and Daddy are very comfortable with them and I know you are going to be great while there. Well, my little girl, I love you and I am so proud that you were such a big girl who was able to get through the day without me (for some reason I think that statement should be the other way around,).
Love you

Back to Work Blues

Today I had the Back to Work Blues. It was my first day back to work after being with you for almost 4 months. Boy was it tough being away from you. I dropped you off at grandma's this morning at 6:30 and I haven't stopped thinking about you since. I know you were a good girl, because I called about 3 times. I probably drove grandma crazy, but oh well, I missed you. I am still at work, but will be leaving very shortly to come and pick you up from grandma's. I love you baby girl, and I'm sorry that our special private time together has gone so quickly. See you soon.

Throw your hands in the air..and wave em like you just don't care

I love this. Every morning when I take Kendyl out of her swaddle, or straight-jacket as some like to call it, she does this

Dang she's cute

Catching flies

What a weekend

I haven't written for a few days because we have been busy, busy, busy. Daddy took Friday off from work so the three of us got to hang out all day. We went to my classroom to get stuff ready, then we did a little shopping and came home. Your cousins Curtis and Garryl brought Grandma Bea out because she was going to spend the whole weekend with us. So we all had dinner and hung out for a while then your cousins had to go. We all watched TV and played with you until it was bedtime. You spent most of Saturday with mommy's side of the family because me, Daddy and Grandma Bea went to Temecula to go gambling. While we were there, me and Daddy kept saying how much we missed you and couldn't wait to get home. We picked you up and then we came home and we all called it an early night. It was really cold and wet on Sunday, so we all stayed in and stayed warm. You cracked us all up all day and Grandme Bea loved playing with you and holding you. She leaves tomorrow so she wanted to spend every moment of today with you. We all love you Baby Kendyl.

Happy Birthday Daddy

Today we celebrated Daddy's birthday. We actually celebrated it on Monday with the entire family, but today the 3 of us hung out and celebrated. I think Daddy had a nice day. When we woke up, he was already gone with Grandma Bea. They went to the casino, then Daddy came home. We all just hung out and you and Daddy took a nice nap. Then we had dinner and played and talked all night long. Daddy said this was his best birthday ever because he now has you. We love you very much Kendyl

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Award winning day

Today you received two awards:

1) Best dressed Baby because you looked so freaking cute in your outfit, and

2) Stinkiest Baby because you took a poop today that was sooo stinky, I almost couldn't change you because I was afraid the stink would stay on me.

I'm not sure how one baby could be so cute, yet so stinky at the same time. Just another way you amaze me Kendyl. I love you stinkybutt.

Grandma Bea

Today you got to meet your Grandma Bea for the first time. She lives in Texas and flew all the way out here to meet you. I could tell right away that you fell in love with each other. You were so comfortable in her arms. It was beautiful.

Your 1st New Years Eve

Last night we went to the Seyfrieds house to celebrate New Years Eve. We had a pretty good time and you were a really good girl until you spit up while laying on your belly and then dove your face in it. Darn it, where was my camera when I needed it :) You did your usual 20 min naps and then ate and played. I could tell you were getting pretty sleepy around 10:30 which is when you normally go to sleep, but you tried to stay awake. However, your little head fell asleep with Aunt Cici until around 11:50 when she handed you to me. I rocked you in hopes to not wake you, but wouldn't you know it as the whole gang started counting down from 10 I looked down and you were looking up at me, ready to celebrate with us. Me and Daddy kissed you at midnight, what a way to start the New Year. I couldn't ask for anything more or better. I love you Kendyl. Happy New Year
