Storytime.... (again)

I just can't help but to post this. I know I have already posted a few "stories," but this one is just real cute. I wish I knew what she was saying:)
Love you, french fry. Thanks for loving books almost as much as I love you.

Happy Birthday Logan James

Today is your cousin, Logan's 7th birthday. We are having his party on Saturday but tonight we had a fun dinner at grandma and grandpa's. Grandma made her famous spaghetti, or as you like to call it, "spag paga." You had a lot of fun playing with Hunter, Mallorey, Hailee and Logan. Grandma made special cupcakes and we had a really nice time.
This picture is actually from New Year's Eve.

Happy Birthday Logan. We love you!

San Diego

Well we made it all back in one piece. We had a great time on our short trip south. We left Saturday morning around 9 and headed straight to the Wild Animal Park. The weather looked a little scary so we weren't sure if we were going to be able to go, but sure enough it turned out to be a beautiful day; not too hot, not too cold. You loved walking around the park checking out the different animals. We weren't there 20 minutes before we had out first real "encounter" with the animals. As we were looking at some birds in the aviary, daddy and I thought we felt rain drops...Nope. There was a nest right above us and as we looked up we saw the "tail end" of a bird. A big bird at that. Luckily it missed you, but it tagged the stroller pretty well.

We quickly left the birds and went on to see other animals. We saw all sorts of things, too many to list, but don't worry I have plenty of pictures. We went on the Safari tour and learned about all types of animals. You had a lot of fun on that ride.
After the tour we went to see the elephants, then we started to head out. You had a really fun time and I hope we can go back again, maybe when you are a little older.
After we left the park, we went to the hotel to rest. Your cousin Curt was down for a basketball game so we wanted to go support him and his team. So we hung out in the hotel for a little while, then got dressed, went to dinner and the then to UCSD for the game. You were such a good cheerleader while there. You kept screaming, "Go, Go Go.." If only they would have listened, they might have actually not blown a 13 point lead:) Oh well, you tried. After the game we picked up cousin Curt and one of his teammates and took them to get something to eat. You stayed up and played the whole time, although you were a little shy. By the time we dropped them off it was 11:45 and we headed back to the hotel. You fell asleep on the way back, woke up for a minute when I was putting on your pj's then you were out for the night. This morning we woke up around 9 and headed home. Thanks for a great weekend. You are a great travel partner. I love you.

Getting ready for the Wild Animal Park

Tonight we starting getting ready for our trip to San Diego tomorrow by practicing our animal sounds.
We are hoping to go visit some real animals tomorrow but since it rained most of today, I'm not sure if we're going to go. We are definitely going to go to San Diego to watch cousin Curt's basketball game and we're even going to stay in another hotel. I guess we just had so much fun last time that we had to do it again. Well, if we don't get to the animal park because of the weather tomorrow, maybe we can go Sunday? We'll see. Love you french fry. Here's to a fun and hopefully dry weekend.

Take that!

So, the balloons from New Year's Eve/Daddy's birthday are finally floating downward. You have been giving them a piece of your mind lately, and might I add, having a blast doing it :) Love you my little violent french fry.

Little Angel

Yesterday we had a really long day. We went to grandpa's uncle Tony's funeral and then spent the evening at Aunt Linda's house. You played with Hope and Paige while most of the adults played poker. Although, you got in on the poker playing action a little too.

You were so excited about the day that you took one 20 minute nap and one 15 minute nap all day. And did I mention that you didn't fall asleep until we were on the way home at 11:30pm????
You slept pretty hard last night, although Daddy got lonely and needed you to sleep with him around 3:30, which you graciously did. We all got up around 9, showered and did some laundry.Next thing I knew you were fallingback asleep. You took a 2 hr. nap. That was great timing, because during that time we decided to have everyone over for the Steeler game. So me and Daddy were able to get a few things done while you slept.
After you woke up, Evonne, Abbey and Ashley came by again to visit and play with you. Soon after everyone else was here. We had a great time, watching football, eating, drinking, playing Wii, etc... We even dressed you up so you could be twins with Hailee . After the game we had a bowling tournament and your Aunt Heidi killed us all. You were soooo tired you actually fell asleep in the chair while watching us. Luckily for you, you fell asleep just in time because after our tournament grandma did 5 jumping jacks,(or what she thought were jumping jacks) It was awesome. I don't think we have laughed that hard in awhile :) Here you crashed on the chair with your hands folded like a little angel.

Love you angel, thanks for a great few days.

All by yourself

You have really been interested in feeding yourself lately. Here is a video of you attempting to do just that.
I love how independent you are becoming, although I could do without the tantrums that are becoming more and more frequent.

Oh, Poop

Today Jen Jen told me that for 2 days in a row you have walked over to her with a clean diaper right after going #2 and you tell her "poo poo." I guess that means the potty training time is a coming. I thought you would be ready early, but not this early. We're going to have to get Grandma Bea out here from Texas. I hear she is the master trainer. :) We won't start just yet, but I think it's cute that you are starting to understand so many things. Love you poopy french fry.

This is an old picture (from Mallorey's birthday Dec 26th) but I just love how happy you are to be eating some cake :) That's my girl.

A funny runny

You and Daddy have had a runny nose for about a week now. Yours is slowly getting better, and maybe once Daddy decides to let you sleep in your room instead of on his chest at night so he breathes all over you, it will finally go away. Tonight after dinner your finger and nose met again for another little quickie..... But this time you pulled out long, green, slimy, gross snot. You held it up, looked at me and said, "EEEWWWWWWWWW" and made the best nasty face I have seen in a while. Then you wiped it on your pants and went back to playing. Gotta love it. Love you snotty french fry.

Super Spoon

Tonight the 3 of us went on a family date. First, after an afternoon full of naps, we headed to Super Mex for dinner. Usually you just eat our rice/beans, but tonight I ordered you a quesadilla from the kids menu just to try. You almost ate the entire thing. You loved it. On the way home, we stopped at Golden Spoon to get some frozen yogurt. Another thing you have yet to try. So when we came home, you were a little hesitant to try, but once you tasted it and I heard the Mmmmmmmm, I knew I had you hooked. You are still walking around the house with the empty bowl and spoon pretending to eat more. That's what I get for getting a mini. Well, thanks for a nice evening. Love you.

Playdate with B-Lo

Today you had your first playdate with B-Lo. He is mommy's friend, Lisa's, son. He is a few months older than you, so you 2 hit it off quite well. You were a bit bossy at times, and you weren't a fan of sharing your toys with him. But overall, I'd say it was a success. You guys totally starting playing well together when it was time to go. Here is some video and pics of your fun day. Hopefully we can do it again soon.

You really didn't want to share your train, but he's pretty cute,

So you gave in real quick.

Here you are holding hands while we were walking them out,

I don't think we should show Daddy this one....

I know you had fun with Brayden. I just hope Brandon doesn't find out and get jealous.

Once upon a time.....

Good luck at figuring the rest of the story out.
Love you, Kendyl

16 months old

Today you are 16 months old. And again, I can't believe it. Everyday seems to just get better with you. You are so smart and happy that I constantly find myself thanking someone upstairs for you. I know you are a little sick right now, but you still seem to brighten up every minute I spend with you.
You are pretty much the same kid you have been for a while. You are a bit smarter and a bit more stubborn though. You still have a lot of words (about 20) and you understand directions amazingly. Tonight you even put your hand in one of your puppets and tried to make it talk. You pick up on things very quickly, which is something I hope stays with you as you get older.
You weigh 24 lbs and are..oh man, I forgot how tall you are. I'll have to go back and look at the dr. paperwork (sorry, bad mom moment). Thanks for being such a wonderful daughter to call my own. I know that I am the luckiest person in the world. Happy 16 month birthday. I love you.

Mommy Complex

The last 3 days when I have picked you up from Jennifer's, you have thrown a major tantrum when it was time to get in the car. That is something extremely new and it is starting to give me a bit of a complex. I know you love being at Jen Jen's and you want to stay there and play with the girls, but come on. How about a little love for mommy after a long day of fighting with 9 and 10 year olds? The funny part is she has only done it one other time (after leaving Pavilions) and that was just for a second. So, I don't know how Jen Jen is spoiling you, but I'm gonna find out so I can out-do her:) Then maybe you'll want to come with me.
Tomorrow you are staying home with Daddy because you aren't feeling very well. You have a horrible cough and extremely runny faucet:( In fact, today, after the struggle to get you in the car, we went to Target and you threw up while in the cart. It was quite gross. I didn't see you do it, so I hope you weren't wearing it too long :0.
The good thing is you can't deny me tomorrow cause I don't have to pick you up, so there!! :)
I'm sure it's just a phase you're going through. I love you no matter how hard I have to hold you down:) Sleep tight, french fry.

My pretty new dress

Thanks Auntie Lisa for my pretty new dress. As expected, it looks beautiful on me:)
Thanks for always letting me play dress up with you, Kendyl. I love you.

Bless You

Ok, she amazes me. About 10 minutes ago while I was clipping her fingernails, I sneezed. She really said, "Bless you." No one had to tell her to say it or anything. So I tried it again and faked sneezed and she said it again. How does she know to say that? I guess she learns from example.... uh oh now I really have to watch what I say :) Love you genius. Good night. Have fun at Jen Jens tomorrow.

What a fun weekend

Well, we finally got home today around noon and boy did we have a good time. Friday night we surprised Daddy and took him to Curt's game. Your Auntie Lisa, cousins Garryl, Aaren and Evonne were there, as well as Daddy's friend Ronnie and his daughters; Milan, Jade, and Shane. Everyone was so excited to see you.
Here you are running around during halftime.
Curt's team won which was really cool. After the game we drove to our hotel in Ontario. This was your first time in a hotel and after you woke up from the drive you were in rare form. Here are a couple of videos to prove it.

Needless to say, me and Daddy didn't get much sleep that night. And we learned how important it is for you to sleep in your own bed. Not only for you, but for us as well:) We woke up Saturday and gave you a bath before we headed out for the day. We weren't real sure where we were going, but we had our Thomas Guide and we were set. We headed out towards San Bernardino because cousin Curt was playing there at 7:30pm. Before we knew it we were headed up the mountain heading towards Lake Arrowhead. It was a really scary drive because it was sooooo foggy. You managed to sleep the entire way which was perfect. We pulled into the Village at Lake Arrowhead because we wanted to walk around. Plus we had 7 hours to kill before the game. So we got out and it was then that I realized that I forgot your big jacket at home. Duh! Luckilly they had a very expensive shop there that only sold boys Hurley heavy coated sweatshirts. Exactly what we needed...not. But we couldn't let your freeze on your first trip to the snow, so we bought you the sweatshirt. How does a snow covered village not have any jackets for girls??? Whatever, you still rocked it like no one could. Once we got you all bundled up for the 37 degree cold,we walked around and you discovered snow. You weren't quite sure about it at first, but you quickly caught on. After playing for a little bit, we took Daddy to lunch for his birthday. We went to a place that was right on the lake and had the best time (thanks to the heaters) :)
Here are some pictures of you in the snow/ice :)

After lunch we did a little shopping and playing and then we headed back down the mountain. You were getting tired and it was really cold.

Now we only had 4 hours to spare before the game. Our original plan was to drive home after the Saturday game, but we all needed a serious nap, so we got a room right by the college and rested until game time. Your cousins team just happened to be staying in the same hotel, so he came up to visit for a little bit. We took Daddy out for a special birthday dinner where you picked him out the perfect present...

and then we went to the game. They lost, but your cousin played much better than the night before so we were all proud :)
After the game we (me, you, Daddy, cousin Evonne, her boyfriend Gio, and Curt) all ended up in our room. They were going to get some food and we were going to get some zzzz's. So we said our good-byes and went to bed. You did much better last night than Friday. You kept Daddy up for a while as you constantly twist and turn, but for the most part...it was a pretty normal night.
We didn't get up until about 9:30.
Clearly you were having a bad hair morning, so we brushed you down, got dressed and hit the road. You slept most of the way home. I had soooooo much fun with you, not only this weekend, but the last 2 weeks. Thanks for being my right hand lady and hanging with me. I love you so much, but unfortunately, it's back to work tomorrow. Love you french fry.

Happy Birthday Daddy

Today is Daddy's birthday. We are going to celebrate by going to the snow, hanging out and then going to cousin Curt's game. Yesterday, our plan worked great. We surprise dad-napped him and took him to Pomona for cousin Curt's game, then we went to dinner and then to the hotel. That was your first night in a hotel room and you were great. We had so much fun.
Happy Birthday Daddy, We love you.

Dadnap attempt

Today we are going to visit Dr. Tran and then we are going to attempt to Dadnap Daddy and take him away for the weekend. Tomorrow is his birthday and the 3 of us need to get away. I hope our plan works.

Fun with my cousins

Here are a few pics of you enjoying your new train with cousins Mallorey, Logan and Hailee. You are such a big girl. I love you. I have enjoyed these last 2 weeks sooo much that I might have to start playing the lotto, so I can retire early:)
Love you french fry.

Happy New Year

Last night we had a party here at our house and we had a lot of fun. You stayed up until 1:30 am and partied like a rock star. You had so much fun with your family and friends.

Unfortunately, you woke up today with, what sounds like, another round of croup. We go see Dr. Tran tomorrow for your checkup, so we'll have to have her check that our, along with your little blackened fingernail. Love you french fry. Hope you feel better soon.
