Watch out, Ansel Adams

Mommy's friend, Kim gave you another present last week. Your very own camera. A real one too. Well, it's kid real but it actually takes pictures and we can put them on the computer and everything. You were soooooo excited. You haven't stopped clicking away since you got it. Here are a few of your newest shots...

Where has our summer gone?

Well, summer is officially over, but not for us:) We get to have an extended summer, thanks to mommy not having a teaching job this year. Well, at least I will get to stay home with you and spend some good time together before you actually start school. We have had a grrrrrrrrrrrrrreat summer!! This past week we went with Aunt Cyndi and Brandon to Brandon's grandma's house to help Aunt Cyndi pick up all her stuff for her classroom. You had a lot of fun playing with Brandon and Aidan. we even all went out to dinner and you three were the cutest three there!!! On Wednesday you spent the whole day with Auntie Evonne and Brandon. You were a good girl too (at least that's what Auntie Evonne said) Thursday we took Aunt Heidi, Mallorey, and Logan to Disneyland. Their cousin Elsie, and their Auntie Regina were there too, so you had a lot of friends to play with. You were a bit sad because you were just a tiny bit too small for Soaring over California, but we fixed that by buying you a misting fan.

You went on a lot of rides and stayed up waaaaay toooooo late. This was you still going strong as we waited in line for the 11:15 Color of Wonder show at California Adventure.

The show was great but you fell asleep halfway through it. We finally got home around 1:30 in the morning. Needless to say, we didn't do much Friday. You went over to Grammy's for a little bit and daddy picked you up early.
I can't believe that August is almost over and you are almost 3 years old. I remember it all like it was last week. Thanks for being such a great child. I love you sooooo much.

These are from the aquarium (obviously huh)

Staycation videos

This is one of the minute to win it games that we tried to play. The object is to move the cookie from your forehead to your mouth without using your hands.

I guess we forgot to tell you the part about "No hands" and forgot to tell Hailee that it supposed to be the whole cookie. She took a bit first :)

Here is Cici's version of a "Conga line" Too bad you guys lost grammy half way around.

This minute to win it game is the one where you were supposed to transfer the cotton balls from one table to another only using the vaseline on your nose.

On Sunday, the big kids jumped off the roof of the patio and you thought you wanted to do it too. You actually walked up the ladder and stood on top, but quickly realized that it was a bit high. So you and Hailee did this instead...

I wish I could share the videos of grampy after a few too many Gin and Juices, but there may be young people watching, but trust me it was the best comedy we have had in years!!!!!

Staycation

This past weekend we had our 2nd annual staycation at grammy and grampy's house. We all bring tents and camp out in the backyard for the whole weekend. This year we had a circus theme and had a lot of fun swimming, playing games, chasing bees, and laughing. It was a very long 3 days but it sure was worth it. Here are some pics from the weekend.

Well, thanks to Grammy and Grampy for another wonderful staycation. And thanks Kendyl for making this summer so much fun for me. I love you.

Monday Night Football

Tonight after Daddy got home you two decided to play football outside. It was the cutest thing I have seen in a long time. You catch the ball pretty well now. In this video you are trying to run by Daddy and score....which of course you do followed by your touchdown dance

You are so much fun to play with. I am going to miss you the next few days, but I will call you a lot to see how you are doing and hear your cute little voice. I love you, french fry.

Flying By

This summer is really just flying by. I can't believe that in exactly one month you will be turning 3 years old. I truly can't believe how fast time flies. We have been having the best summer ever. You and I have been true partners in crime. Last week we went to the beach, meet Aunt Cyndi and Brandon for lunch and played at the town centers water thingy, had a little play date with your cousin Hailee at our house, we went with Aunt Heidi to Concerts n the Park where you made a lot of new friends, and we just played, played, played. I am happy to say that you are completely potty-trained at this point. You only wear a pull-up when you go to sleep at night and most mornings you wake up dry. Occasionally, you will even get out of bed during the night to use the potty. We are so proud of you.

This weekend we spent a lot of time at Grammy and Grampy's because I always seem to come up with projects for their house so we had to "supervise" :) Next weekend is our family staycation, where we all bring tents and spend the weekend camping in Grammy and Grampy's backyard. It is the highlight of the summer and we are all getting ready for it.
Tomorrow I am going to take you to the beach and then you are going to spend a few days with Jen Jen and your "sisters." You haven't seen them much this summer and since mommy is going out of town for a few days, you get to hang out with them. You and Daddy are going to have a lot of fun after he gets off work and picks you up. Then once I come home, it's staycation time. :)
Thanks for giving me the best summer ever. It is so much fun to watch you grow and learn everyday. You are really a precious gift and I love you sooo much.

Flower girl

On Thursday we dove down to Laguna Hills for cousin Aaren's rehearsal for the big wedding. You did a nice job at the rehearsal especially since you made a new friend in Jordan (the other flower girl)

After the rehearsal we came back to our hotel and went in the pool and jacuzzi for a little while to relax.

On Friday, we headed out to the mall to get your nails done for the first time.
Here you are riding one of the many toys they had at the mall.
You felt so special getting your nails done.
You told me that it tickled when she was touching your toes :) She gave you very special flowers too.

Then we took naps and got ready for the big event. I admit I was a bit worried for a while. I wasn't sure if you would get intimidated by all the people or how you would respond. We took a few pictures before the actual ceremony and you started getting really comfortable with everyone.

Then the big moment came..... not only did you walk perfectly, you actually started picking up the flowers that Jordan was dropping :) It was really cute. You finally realized that you were supposed to drop them too and you walked down the aisle like a pro. I was very proud of you! You did a nice job of standing by the girls too, and you even heped cousin Evonne fix cousin Aaren's train once she walked down. Everyone thought that you were very sweet and helpful, not to mention adorable :)
After the ceremony you and Jordan had a lot of fun playing.
We had a nice dinner and then you couldn't wait to get on that dance floor. I think you danced more that anyone else at the wedding. You didn't even stop to have a piece of cake!! You were having so much fun on the dance floor. At one point you were even in the middle of a cirlce shaking it all. I was very surprised/impressed because you tend to be a bit shy around strangers, but I guess the music just took over :)
Here you are with cousin Aaren :)

Here is one (of many) of my favorite videos of you dancing. Trust me when I say that this is just a small amount of what really happened. You outlasted almost everyone dancing til almost midnight.

I am sooo proud of you and love you sooooo much. I hope you had a nice few days away from home on our mini vacation. Love you, french fry.
