KENDYL

Tonight we went to my work because the PTA was having a Halloween magic show and parade. So we dressed you up as the little piglet you are, and we headed out. Everyone thought you were so cute. All of my students came rushing over to see you. When the parade started you were not afraid to walk with all the kids. So I let you walk with someone whom you may never really get to know, but she will always be special to us.
Her name is Courtney and she was my student when I was pregnant with you. She is actually the person who first mentioned the idea of naming you Kendyl. I will always remember the day that she said, "Mrs. Sumlin, I have the perfect name." Which I thought she was going to say, "Courtney", but she said, "Kendall." I loved that name from the moment I heard it. Then one night your Uncle Tim (from Texas) called. We hadn't spoken to him for a while and while I was talking to him, he said he heard a beautiful name that he wanted to share with us, because at that point we were still debating between Kendall and Jordyn. Now trust me, he had no idea of our choices and he said.. Kendall- but spelt KENDYL. That was a sign if I ever saw one , actually heard one, but whatever.
I thought about that name every moment of every day until the day you were born and then I knew it was perfect. So that is the story of where your name came from, which made me think about it as I watched you walk across the stage holding Courtney's hand. So here is a picture of Courtney walking you across the stage during the parade. Love you.

From Sassy to Sexy

Today you wore the perfect shirt for you. It had a witch's hat on it and it said, "Sassy little witch." Well, little did I know that you have moved on from Sassy to Sexy as you proceeded to not only show Jennifer while you were there, but once we got home you proved your "sexi-ness." Time to slow it down, sister. You are truly the funniest thing on the planet. Well, here you are as a sassy witch

And here is what you turned into...

But the best part is that your pants were actually glow in the dark and they worked. When we got home, we just sat in the hallway for a few minutes as you tried to figure them out. It was awesome. love u. Happy Halloween eve.

Clowning around

Last night while Daddy was cleaning out the garage, you found grandma's clown wig. She brought it over during the Olympics because it is red, white, and blue. You hesitated at first, but before we knew it... you had it on your head (with a little help from Daddy). You are so much fun. I love you

Getting ready for Halloween

The last few days we have been really getting ready for the big day. Last year, you were only 6 weeks old, so you probably don't remember much. In fact, I don't even remember much, so I don't how I can expect you to. All I know is you were the cutest kitty cat ever and small enough to actually put you inside the pumpkin and here is proof.....

This year, it hasn't been quite as easy to be creative. Especially since you don't like to sit still or cooperate with many things. So, we have just been doing the "normal" things: decorating the house, buying festive clothing, carving pumpkins (that are already rotten...) I should have known better than to do them a week early, but it was fun and some bratty kid will probably just throw them into the street so there are pumpkin guts everywhere anyways. Here are some pics of you in your new gear. How cute are the shoes???? Almost as cute as you, but not quite!!

Love you French Fry....

Bruin Blues

Here is Kendyl in a very scary and ugly costume. We were thinking about letting this be her Halloween costume, but we decided not to because we don't want to taint her wonderful childhood. Although, I have to admit she does look good in blue (but then again, she looks good in everything).

Lunch Date

Today we had a lunch date with Auntie Lenee, Auntie Lisa and your cousin Garryl. We had a great time. They were so happy to see you and couldn't believe how big you are now. We went to Islands and you entertained us the whole time. You were a very good girl while we were having lunch. You even got to take your very 1st escalator ride. Me and Daddy took you up it and then right back down before lunch, and then after lunch you and Daddy went again. It's technically not your 1st time, but it's your first time actually standing while on it..so yeah for you. Now you are crashed, where I can assume you'll be for a while after the wild weekend you've had. Love you french fry and thanks for a nice day everyone. It was great to see you.

Which one is more goofy???

I hope you were pointing, and he wasn't trying to teach you how to use a certain finger:)

Pumpkin Party

Tonight we had our first(hopefully annual) pumpkin carving party. The family came over for a BBQ, football, poker and pumpkin carving. You were not really that interested in the nastiness that was inside your pumpkin, but the other kids did a great job. Hunter, Mallorey, and Logan made awesome pumpkins and then you guys played all night long. Here are some cool pics...

Poor Brandon

I hope he knows what he is in for. After this video, I think he may have second thoughts about being your boyfriend. I love the way he just stares at you, really trying to figure you out. Little does he know, he will never figure us women out :)
Love you both

Great Start.... Better Ending

Today we started the day off great. You slept through the night for starters and while we were having breakfast, Uncle Eric dropped off Brandon. The two of you hung out, watched the Backyardigans, and made out a little bit :0You even tried to climb in to his car seat a few times. I guess you thought there was room for both of you. It was quite a morning.

The day only got better because right after lunch you came to surprise me at work with Jennifer. It was the coolest thing. You were actually there because you were going with the 1st graders to the Pumpkin Patch, so before you left you came by my room to say hi. All my students were soooo excited to finally meet Kendyl. They followed you around the room the whole time. I can't ask for a day better than that.
Love you

Celebration Day

Today is a very special day. It is your grandma and grandpa's anniversary and your Auntie Lisa's birthday. So, happy anniversary grandma and grandpa and happy birthday auntie... from your little devil

The best part about this picture is that I can't make devil horns in your hair because it is so darn curly.... Everytime I try, it just curls up. Love you

Missy Kissy

Today we had a very fun and busy day. First, we went to Jackson's 1st birthday party and you had so much fun that you actually fell asleep an hour into it. Then we came home and napped for a while. Then we went to Tori's soccer game, where you had a blast also.
The best part of the day was how kissy you were. You kissed 3 non-related boys (Brandon, Clayton, and Jackson), all of them with a mouth wide open too. (Not so sure how happy Daddy is going to be with that?) On top of that you kissed 3 dogs (and no I don't mean 3 related boys), I mean actual dogs: Jax, Ginger, and Max. Geez, you got a lot of action today... no wonder you fell asleep at 8:30 tonight. Love you, french fry.

You can only imagine....

where I found corn hours later.... yep...in those curly locks.

Help!!!

Can anyone understand this new language Kendyl has created? If it were up to me to translate, I think she's saying how lucky she is to have such wonderful friends and family. I think I also heard something about a brother or sister, but I'm going to ignore that:) Enjoy the new Kendylisms...and have fun creating your own meaning to it all.

Water plus dirt equals....

YEP!! you guessed it.. MUD
Today you became a very quick learner when it comes to the magical world of MUD!!! We went outside to water the grass and while I thought you were playing with your ball, you were actually discovering how the dripping hose mixed with the dirt that you had to pick up makes... mud. And might I add you were having a fabulous time. So I helped you by adding some extra water to your pile of dirt. The fun continued until you decided to taste it. It was then that we had to come in for a bath. Here are some shots I was able to get before the fun ended.

Kendyl in the box

The other night while we were cleaning your room, you decided to climb into the empty box of diapers. You crawled in and out for about 20 min and then you decided to just take a break and hang out in there for awhile. It was awesome. Who needs a Jack, when we've got a Kendyl in the box?

Thanks for being so darn cute. Love you

Fun Day at the Pumpkin Patch

Today we went to the Pumpkin Patch with the Nordlanders. What a fun time. You had a blast walking around playing with all the pumpkins. You even tried to pick some up, but they were a bit heavy for you. I hope you had fun at the Pumpkin Patch. Thanks for a great weekend. Love you.

Football and Futbol

Today we had some real fun. First me and you went to one of my student's tackle football games. You slept through most of it, but trust me, it was exciting. His team lost, but it was really close. Then we went to go watch Mallorey's soccer game. While we were there you showed off your new football skills that you must have learned earlier in the day.
Here you are as center, hiking the ball to Logan.

Then, after hiking, Logan threw you a pass and you caught it with ease (not really, just play along with my story)...
Before we knew it you were racing downfield...
and you ran it in for a touchdown. You were so excited to score.

After that exhausting event, you took a well deserved water break.

When we left Mallorey's game we came home and you took a 2 hour nap. Then Daddy came home and we played all night long. Tomorrow we have another fun day planned, so it is time to go to bed. (You are sitting on my lap as I type this.) h44444ddddd3333333333333333jh6554r5rcx7.(that was from you)
Love you, sleep tight french fry

Love you
